Like the best IP camera, the Samsung SmartCam HD Pro has a 30 fps frame rate, which means that when you play video back, it shouldn't be choppy. With a night vision range of 62 feet, you should be able to clearly see any object in front of the Wi-Fi camera – even in complete darkness. At 16 feet away from the lens, we weren't able to read every line written on a white poster board, but we were able to make out a few lines. 

This internet camera uses two-way audio, so you can communicate from the app to whomever is in the room with the camera. This means you can tell your dog to get off the couch, say hello to your kids when they come home, or even startle an intruder and possibly prevent theft.

The Samsung SmartCam does not use cloud storage like most of the IP cameras we tested, but that means you don't have to pay a monthly fee to access saved videos. This IP security camera supports up to 64GB microSD cards. You can't schedule recording, but motion and sound detection can help preserve the space on your storage device.

Only a handful of the IP cameras we tested integrate with smart home systems. Samsung has its own called SmartThings, and you can hook the Samsung SmartCam up to monitor your family and home. It also works in conjunction with other Samsung devices to help automate your home.

A one-year warranty is the standard for IP cameras, and Samsung follows suit. You can contact the support team by phone or email if you need to speak to a representative about your camera. Samsung offers FAQs and tutorials on its website, so you can find answers on your own.

Although the Samsung SmartCam HD Pro isn't the best wireless IP camera, it comes close. You can adjust the resolution of the camera, which helps you find a balance between video quality and motion latency. It doesn’t include cloud storage, but it does work with Samsung's SmartThings, a home automation system.
