ArmPocket's Mega i-40 is an armband for large phones and phablets (up to 6.5"). It features extra pockets for cash/ID/Keys, is touchscreen compatible, and very durable. As expected, the Mega i-40 is the biggest armband you've probably ever seen. Of course, it has to be to accommodate the biggest smartphones the world has ever seen. Large enough even for my iPhone 6+ with its Griffin Survivor Core case, it's pretty big. The flexible construction and zippered enclosure also means that just about anything in that size range will fit, including supersize Android phones.
Features and Quality
I love to run with my iPhone. In fact, I'm so used to having it with me that when I upgraded to my iPhone 6+ and had to leave it at home, I found myself running less. Fortunately, ArmPocket was quick to market with their Mega i-40, and I was back in business. I've been at this long enough to have compiled a list of necessary features in a runner's armband. First of all, it has to be made of soft, thick neoprene. If it's too thin, it cuts off my circulation and scratches me with its cruelly sharp edges. Second, the armband must widen where it secures to the pouch because if it doesn't, it has a tendency to twist or bunch into an irritating cord of hellishness. Third, it must be large enough to accommodate at least a minimalist case. Armbands that are constructed to accommodate the exact size of my phone force me to remove it from its case; which I hate. Happily, the Mega i-40 easily passes all of my arbitrary tests, and adds a few new features of its own. For example, there is an elastic strap that serves to hold your phone firmly against the clear window. This allows the armband to accommodate multiple phone sizes while preventing those on the small end of the range from rattling around loosely. There are also several hidden pouches within the main pocket that are designed to hold cash/cards/keys. Lastly, ArmPocket products all secure your phone with zippered enclosures instead of velcro, which always fails with repeated use. Be sure, however, to purchase the case with the correct strap size as buying one that is too large or too small will render it useless, even if it does hold your device perfectly. My only complaint (and its a minor one) is that iPhones must be installed upside-down due the headphone jack being at the base. This doesn't affect the Mega i-40's functionality at all, however, especially since the screen of the iPhone 6+ will rotate to accommodate this.
Summary
If you're looking for a high quality armband for your enormous iPhone 6+, look no further than ArmPocket's Mega i-40. Although on the pricey side, the quality and design will win over even the stingiest of bargain hunting runners. After all, you don't skimp on your shoes, do you?
